Burnett Music Foundation has two primary sustainable fundraising programs. (1) Our Sustainable Annual Fundraising Program, and our (2) Sustainable Monthly Fundraising Program. Each program is convenient. We are seeking to connect with at least 25 Sustaining Patrons through our Annual Fundraising Programs. If you know us and our work, we would appreciate you joining us in this quality community of arts patrons. Our Gold Level Patrons make one-time annual tax-deductible contributions of $500 or more and send those donations directly to us by mail or bank transfer. Please make checks payable to “Burnett Music Foundation.” Our Sustainable Monthly Fundraising Program allows Patrons to make annual contributions on a monthly basis at levels as little as $5, $10, and $30 each month. Our Loyalty Program also offers exclusive merchandise customized to each membership tier. Burnett Music Foundation uses the services of Patreon to process and manage this convenient fundraising program. We are very fortunate to have a community of Patrons whose values tangibly support our efforts in creating high quality arts programming, and Patrons who are willing to assist in our significant efforts that perpetuate America’s own unique contribution of Jazz Music. SUSTAINABLE FUNDRAISING FOR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
While running our nonprofit, raising funds for our programs and projects is an end-goal; however, it is not the only one. If we have to devote all of our efforts on raising money and submitting grants, our programming may not be as successful in the long-term as it may seem at a glance. Burnett Music Foundation has adopted a simple formula for sustainable fundraising for nonprofits. However, just because this formula is ‘simple’ does not necessarily mean it is ‘easy.’
Essentially, the key to sustainability for a small jazz nonprofit like us lies in monthly giving. Sustainability for our nonprofit means that we want to keep doing the work towards achieving our long-term goals. Our monthly tax-deductible membership donations from these PATRONS help us meet this substantial long-term goal. Although Burnett Music Foundation programming and projects are economical and often also supported by grant funding, sustainable monthly giving keeps us running and makes sure we have the resources needed to produce the high quality projects we maintain. When aiming for sustainability, our PATRONS allow us to be able to devote our efforts on our mission without having to worry about how we will fund certain activities or having to always plan our fundraising activities individually. This is where our monthly giving programs come in.
WHY MONTHLY GIVING?
Burnett Music Foundation monthly giving programs are what helps our fundraising keep functioning. Why? With recurring donations, more people are able to become donors for Burnett Music Foundation because each individual monthly donation itself may be smaller, and the accumulative effects of smaller monthly tax-deductible contributions total significantly larger than most substantial one-time donations. Statistics show that our donor retention increases when we have a monthly giving program. Not only do our existing PATRON donors no longer have to worry about how they can contribute to our great jazz nonprofit programming at Burnett Music Foundation, but it speaks to the quality of what we do. It is proven that prospects will also be attracted to the idea of being a member patron of a nonprofit like Burnett Music Foundation where donors are loyal enough to subscribe to monthly giving because it represents our high quality relationship.
Because monthly giving is automated, PATRONS can be assured that they will always be generating some amount of tax-deductible contribution income for Burnett Music Foundation’s organizational activities. With monthly giving programs, Burnett Music Foundation has lower operating costs than if we were gathering multiple one-time donations. Having a monthly donation program reduces the reliance of Burnett Music Foundation on government-funded grants, which are not only challenging to secure but are also unpredictable, in that we may have put in significant effort to gain no results.
